The garden hosts about 450 plant species each identified by a label indicating the common name, Latin name and family. A red dot even indicates poisonous or highly toxic plants. Valmadrera’s particular climatic-environmental conditions, has resulted in a variety of rich medicinal and aromatic plants as well as a mountain flora both interesting and rare.t is believed that in 1700 the friars Fatebenefratelli, (Religious community of fathers hospital founded by the Spanish St. John of God), were using this space for the cultivation of herbs medicines.
