An operator of a restored mountain country home and the owner of one of Lake Como's coolest bicycle rental shops have teamed up to offer guests a unique holiday package for exploring Lake Como in the fall, which is of course the best time of all.
The smart traveller knows the beautiful and mild autumn days of October are the best time of the year for cycling, walking, and generally visiting Lake Como. Summer is too hot and crowded, but fall is epic!
P&L Wear and Rental, a sport clothing and bike rental shop situated in Domaso, Lake Como is collaborating with Tuschaus, a completely restored country house in the mountains located 2 kms above Domaso with breathtaking views of Lake Como, to offer a special "Bike and Stay" package only for the month of October.
Guests (2 to 6 people) that rent Tuschaus and bikes will get a special price on the villa rental and on all P&L bike rentals to enjoy the variety of cycling paths and mountain bike routes right from their door.
Close to Domaso in the Valchiavenna and the Valtellina there are dedicated and safe cycling paths that are great even for beginners. There are also short cycling trails like the one from Domaso to the Pian di Spagna or to Gaggio, or the route through Segna to the nearby town of Gravedona.
But there are also challenging mountain bike routes such as the gravel road to Gaggio, or right from the Tuschaus door there's a route that takes you to the old town of Livo from which you can also quickly get to the "Crotto Dangri". From there you can walk (4 hours) to the spectacular Lago Darengo (1850m) or hike the last part of the via dei monti Lariani with a splendid view of northern Lake Como.
You can also use the boat services on Lake Como to explore other parts of Lake Como by bike or on foot. Michelle from P&L and Patricia from Tuschaus would be glad to give you ideas about other itineraries and interesting things to do and places to visit nearby such as the Abbazia di Piona, the colle dell’Olgiasca, the Sentiero del Viandante or the Museum of the Resistenza in Dongo.
