SS. Trinita Argegno

Parish church of Argegno made with Moltrasio stone in the Neo-romanic Style. A construction in neo-Romanesque style with a gabled facade enhanced by a rose window depicting saints. On the front of the church is a mosaic of the four Evangelists, the patron of Como, Saint Abbundius and Saint Anna, patron saint of Argegno.

SS. Trinita: Description

There is also a mosaic lunette depicting the adolescent Jesus with three sheep. The interior has a single nave with a gabled roof and a coffered ceiling. The conch of the apse houses a mosaic showing the Holy Trinity. The tabernacle depicts the Dinner at Emmaus, the altar table is supported by 12 figures of the Apostles and the Evangelists at the four corners.

The ambo shows Jesus announcing the good news from Simon’s boat. At the corners of the main altar is a statue of the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph. Two very fine stoups support the wooden platform that houses the organ of the old church. On the left wall there is a 17th century canvas depicting the Nativity.
