Sant’Antonio Abate Faggeto Lario

Comments

The church already existed in the fifteenth century but was rimaneggita between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The Romanesque bell tower displays although its construction is significantly late. During the Middle Ages, the parish church of Santa Margherita was in Molina In the following centuries, due to the displacement of inhabitants towards the mountain, another church was built, dedicated to St. Anthony Abbot, more easily accessible since it is located in a more central location. During the seventeenth century it was abandoned, probably because it became insufficient to accommodate all the faithful, and replaced by another building.
